The Masked Singer will crown one celebrity the first-ever winner of the British series on Saturday night after weeks of clues being dropped about the identity of the famous face lurking beneath one of the outrageous costumes. Queen Bee, Hedgehog and Octopus are the three finalists, and while speculation has been rife for the former two, it seems fans of the ITV show are having a hard time trying to guess the celebrity pretending to be Octopus. However, it seems bookmaker Ladbrokes has an inkling as to who it could be.
When The Masked Singer aired its first show, viewers up and down the country were left befuddled, but now, six weeks later, everyone is gripped by perhaps the most bizarre singing show currently around.
The guessing game - which originated in South Korea - sees a selection of celebrities dressed head-to-toe in whacky costumes, while they take to the stage with an iconic song.
It is them up to the star judging panel, which consists of Ken Jeong, Davina McCall, Rita Ora and Jonathan Ross to try and work out who is behind the mask, as well as a live audience and viewers at home.
To help them, a series of clues are dropped throughout the show regarding the celebrity’s identity.
The Masked Singer: Octopus to be a Strictly Come Dancing star?
So far, Octopus has proved the most difficult to guess, but looking back on all the details previously revealed, combined with the latest odds, it seems a certain Strictly Come Dancing star could be parading the stage with giant tentacles.
Back in week one, Octopus sounded like they could be American which would fit in well with Ashley Roberts.
To add to this, they said they had experience on the runway, and wanted to be a “role model,” as well as describing themselves as “bubbly, always on the go” and someone who loves weight training. So far, those clues could suggest PussyCat Doll Ashley is parading around as Octopus.
In week three of the competition, Octopus teased: “I never considered that something I loved could be my job. I’m always learning but I’m certainly no apprentice. To get ahead in this game you need to have a plan.”
A picture of a young Jason Donovan then flashed up and Octopus continued: "In fact, I used one of my eight hands to shake on a record-breaking deal, which you could say left me squids in."
The judges were then told two truths and one lie: I was discovered on a cruise ship / I used an accent coach to prepare for this show/ I made my first million in the cosmetics industry.
The following week saw a VT which featured a treasure chest and a London travel guide - the latter is relatable to Ashley because she now lives in London.
“As an octopus, I don’t always spend time in my natural habitat… so it’s a good job I have my wellies… I can wear them at the beach, in the Dales and even in the city," they revealed.
Apparently referencing I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here, Octopus went on: "I’ve been known to visit some very dangerous locations… it takes some serious fish guts to do what I’ve done."
Fans of the reality TV show will remember Ashley jetting off Down Under to join Ant and Dec for the 2014 series.

In the fifth week of the show, Octopus told the judges: “Maybe it’s my British sense of humour coming through,” before explaining how her job “takes her to many places, even back in time”.
It was then revealed how Octopus could speak - or at least sing in multiple languages: “Octopus isn’t the only language I’ve been known to use. You might hear me wax lyrical in Russian, Italian, German, Spanish, Welsh, Latin or Mandarin."
The dressing room clue showed Octopus being delivered food and asking if it was vegan.
Back in 2014, Ashley told the press how she had become vegetarian, but with the rise of veganism recently, could she have given up all animal products more recently?
Finally, week six’s clues revealed how humbled Octopus felt with the opportunities she had been given: “I have been very fortunate to perform for all sorts of people, from pensioners to royalty. I love nothing better than songs of joy.
“There’s nothing like the sound of a choir in a beautiful, cool venue. But be careful, my voice has been known to bring the house down literally.”
To add to the speculation, Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: "Punters and viewers are still trying to guess who's behind the five masked singers still standing but a couple of celebs could have already given the game away if the latest odds are anything to go by."
“The Octopus has probably been the toughest name to guess but Katherine Jenkins’ name has been there or thereabout since day one and given that we were right in guessing Cee Lo Green and Denise Van Outen last week we’re sticking with our guns and saying it’s the soprano songstress behind the mask.”
Ashley also addressed the rumours herself during a Heart Breakfast FM show back in January.
She told her co-stars: “I mean I've had a crazy busy schedule lately. I love a costume. I mean, you know I do like to have a little dress up."
As for who else is being questioned, operatic singer Katherine Jenkins has the highest odds from Ladbrokes for being Octopus.
Sitting at 11/10, Ashely and former Emmerdale star Sheree Murphy sit at 3/1, with Holly Vallance at 4/1 while Dannii Minogue is last with 5/1.
